Embracing Our Mission: Reflections on The Great Commission

mpoyner711

Introduction: The Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:16-20, serves as a powerful call to action for all believers. It is a mandate from Jesus to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. This passage challenges us to step out in faith and embrace our role in fulfilling Christ’s mission on earth.

Body: Matthew 28:18-20 records Jesus' words: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

These verses remind us of the authority of Christ and the responsibility we have as His followers. The Great Commission is not just a task but a lifelong journey of sharing the love and teachings of Jesus with others. It calls us to reach beyond our comfort zones and extend the message of hope and salvation to all corners of the world.

Conclusion: As members of the Community Reformed Church Whiting, let us commit to living out the Great Commission in our daily lives. Whether through our words, actions, or service, we have the opportunity to impact lives and grow the kingdom of God.

Call to Action: Join us in our upcoming events and outreach programs as we work together to fulfill this divine mission. Together, let's be a light in the world and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
